A war monitor built from open sources

A war monitor has to answer three questions fast: what is happening, where, and how bad is it. GlobeAlert answers them from public data. Conflict events are geolocated from wire reports and the GDELT event database, scored by severity and placed on the live map next to military aircraft, ships, bases and chokepoints.

For every active war — Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar, the Sahel, Yemen, Syria, eastern Congo — a situation report keeps the essentials current: intensity, parties, active operations, casualties and displacement, with the sources it was built from. When something breaks, the Critical Desk carries it first and the app pushes an alert.

Nothing here is classified or licensed: it is the open press, government advisories, transponders and satellites, cross-checked and put in one place so you do not have to.

Which wars does the monitor track?

Every active armed conflict with a situation report — currently including Russia–Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar, the Sahel insurgency, Yemen, Syria and DR Congo — plus geolocated conflict events worldwide.

How often is the war map updated?

Conflict events and news update every few minutes; military aircraft and ships are live; situation reports are rebuilt continuously as new reporting arrives.

Where does the data come from?

Open sources only: international and local press, GDELT, government and UN feeds, ADS-B and AIS transponders, satellite fire detections. Every story links to its publisher.

Can I get alerts when a war escalates?
