Rebuffing “Clever Kids, Clueless Parents” Mentality: Education, Not Speech Restriction

Courts must reject the mentality that kids are too clever—and parents either too addled or tech-naïve—for effectively deploying the many extant tools provided by technology companies to help safeguard minors online. Accepting the “clever kids, clueless parents” position sadly promotes unconstitutional censorship of lawful, First Amendment-protected expression that minors have a constitutional right to access and platforms have a right to convey.
