Mindful Bits: Do You Really Know Your ABCs?

If you’re reading this, I’m sure you know your ABCs. As children we were taught the alphabet, which led to the skills of reading and writing. But do you know the origin of our alphabet? When and where did it come from? Who decided what order the letters should be in and how to make them into words? And why aren’t the letters in alphabetic order on keyboards? This basis of communication has been around for centuries and gone through various changes and influences along the way. The English language is complicated. The alphabet holds the building blocks to expand and evolve communication as we venture more into the digital world.
