Bimby Aquino opens up on marriage plans, possible political future

Bimby Aquino is already thinking about marriage and a possible future in public service, sharing his personal and political ambitions in "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda." The young celebrity hopes to marry in his mid-to-late twenties and wants his mother, Kris Aquino, and godfather Boy Abunda, whom he calls Ninong, to walk him down the aisle. “I want to marry early. Mid to late 20s, but I'm preferring mid,” he shared. Kris, however, acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding her health when Bimby expressed his wedding wish. “I might not be around. We're being realistic,” she said. Although Bimby has yet to have an official girlfriend, he revealed that Kris has previously encouraged him to date some of his female friends. None of those friendships, however, developed into romance. He also made clear that his future wife must accept his older brother, Josh, who is on the autism spectrum. Recalling Kris' reminder that he would have to look after Josh when she is gone, Bimby said: “If my wife doesn't accept my brother (Josh), no na. I really can't handle that. I can't live without him.” Beyond marriage, Bimby admitted that public service is also on his mind, following a family legacy that includes his grandmother, former President Corazon Aquino, uncles former President Benigno Aquino III and Senator Bam Aquino and grandfather, the late senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. “I have to be honest, a big part of my heart is really leaning towards public service,” he said, acknowledging that Kris taught their family that entering politics involves considerable sacrifice. Bimby said he prefers to begin at the local level, following his grandfather's example. “I prefer to start local. Iba talaga ang boots on the ground,” he explained. Asked whether he could see himself becoming president someday, he confidently replied: “Absolutely.” Despite these ambitions, Bimby said what he admires most about Kris is how she raised him and Josh, rather than her professional accomplishments. “It's the only life I've ever known eh and it's a life that I'd like to think is a very blessed life because I got to come out of the person that I love most,” he said. “No matter what she accomplished, no matter what she did during her professional career, the thing that I admire the most about her is that she raised me right and raised my brother right,” he added. For now, marriage and politics remain plans for the future. But Bimby's love life has already become a topic of public interest, particularly following his recent on-air matchmaking moments with fellow young entertainer Ryzza Mae Dizon. While the pair's interactions have drawn attention, Bimby has yet to confirm any romantic involvement.
