25 years on, Konaseema Railway Line project yet to get on track

The ambitious 57-km Kotipalli–Narsapur railway line—which includes three bridges across the mighty Godavari River—still hangs fire 25 years after its foundation stone was laid. Locals rue successive governments’ silence on bringing a train to Konaseema, with many blaming lack of political will among the elected representatives from the Godavari region, despite severe losses to trade, commerce, tourism, and connectivity.
